So I’ve just gotten some fabulous photo’s from Kyra of the fashion show. I had totally forgotten that she had a camera back stage and had been taking photo’s all afternoon. So this is your exclusive back-stage pass to the Bishop Bavin Fashion Show. I really did enjoy the show, it was really fun. The girls had a blast and it was exactly what I love, the show casing of all my hard work. It had an amazing feeling. And to make the top 3!

Now that we all know what scoliosis is I can continue to tell you what it does to me. I wear a back brace to prevent my 50 degree curve from getting worse. I could have surgery and not wear the brace but surgery fuses my spine together and that isn’t a pleasant idea.
The brace is big and bulky, thus making dressing a little more complex. the brace is oddly shaped and made of a hard plastic. It is sorta long, it passes my hips and starts around my bust. So the outfits I wear then to have to be long and loose.
I’m sick and tired of long and loose and wanna go back to the figure hugging outfits I wore two years ago, but I’m not saying I want to have the operation…
Yesterday i made and sold my second order of hats!!! Yay!
I had to make 2 hats for 2 children (aged 4 and 6) who needed them for a hat day at school on Spring day. the mother of the children contaced a friend of my moms who had worn one of my hats to a kitchen tea. Jasmina (the mother) asked Nola (my moms friend) about the hats and Nola contacted my mother who told me and loong story short, I contacted Jasmina and made her kids the hats.
The first hat was for a little boy, aged 6 who likes spider man and bat man as well as cars so taking that into consideration I made the hat.
The second hat was for a four year old girl who likes Tinkerbelle, Barbie, Pink and purple, so with that in mind here’s the hat
Nola was going to give them over to Jasmina this week end but can’t wait to show them to her that she’s going to see her today to hand them over! Nola called to thank me for doing the hats and said she can see me going far in the fashion industry!

Meh, don’t ask me why, I just don’t smile. You know what I love about fashion, what makes me smile about it…. The expression, the freedom that fashion gives one. I love how I managed to wear an outfit that told someone “I Don’t care” and he didn’t know. It’s my rebellion, my freedom.
So this is a new skirt I recently bought at Truworths on sale. I matched it up with a dark top and then just added the “jacket” to make it look sophisticated.

It’s about 10:30am as Zoe helps me with this shoot, and it’s not yet summer, it’s hardly spring actually so wearing that skirt and top, I was a little cold.
I can’t wait for summer, I’ll smile then.
Because I know who cares enough to read my blog and who doesn’t I’m happy and comfortable posting about the interview I had with the headmaster of Hyde Park High (HPH). I wanted to cuss and swear throughout the interview and throw a tantrum on the way there as well as not get out of the car, in fact not even get into the car, but if I didn’t make it into Hyde Park, I’d have to home school and I’d rather hit my head against a wall then home school again…
So instead of being a rebel in the obvious manner (Protesting, jumping up and down and all round making a scene) I rebelled in my way. What I wore that day said “F*** You”. the best part was, no one knew I was saying that (or mentally singing Lily Allen's song, which is the hyper link).
I wore my favourite jeans, and a new top that I got a few weeks ago with a half jumper on top, feather earrings, glittering shoes and my bag that Matt got for. me from Knysna.

There is this lady, Liz Gilbert. She wrote a book about her journey from New York, to Italy, then India and finally, Bali. She was married, then realised she didn’t want to be married to her husband. She sorta wanted a change in her life. I can agree, drop everything and travel for a year. I have a similar idea. I want to Eat, Rejuvenate, and then, Design.
I have always wanted to go to Italy. I’ve wanted to walk the streets and see the Tuscan villas. I’ve wanted to eat a big bowl of real Italian pasta and learn the language.
Next would be Corfu island, in Greece. I lived there when I was 5 and have never forgotten the beauty of that island. We lived next to the beach, and had neighbours who brought us fresh eggs and cucumbers. We went to the local “taverna” for dinner now and again. The lifestyle we had was so relaxed and calming that I want to go and get my bearings there before I begin my career in fashion design.
In Liz’s book, she went to Bali, then fell in love, then started a life. She may even have gone back to New York. But that’s not part of my plan. My plan is to go on to Paris, France. I want to own a designer boutique in view of the Eiffel tower. Above my little boutique, I intend to have a small apartment for me and Clio to live in. Of course if I happen to fall in love between now and France, then my lover may join me.
Doesn’t that sound nice? It’s my dream. After a while, I may expend and open another store in New York or somewhere like that, but the boutique in Paris is my dream.
I think I neglected to mention that the best selling book of Liz Gilbert was made into a very successful movie, staring Julia Roberts.
