Web hat, as my sister calls it...

This is my web hat-for lack of a better name, my sister calls it that, she thinks it looks like a spider web because of the "strings" on it.

This hat is made from a broken frizbee covered in tin-foil with fabric roses glues on, the main middle sart is made from a disposable mini cake wrapper with ribbon and roses arround it, glued onto an alice band. the "web" part is diffrent coloured scooby-doos stuck on in a "web" form.

This hat is a very flower fairy-ish hat. It was fun making it!

Masked Figure...

This is the first mask I made. The base is paper mache, covered in leopard print tissue paper and deacorated with blue cord arround the edges and sequins dotted arround the left edge of the mask.

I was inspired by an advert I saw in a specials catalouge. So when my best friend, Clio, came to my house we decided that we (Clio, Zoe, and I) would all make a mask and this is the one I did.

I love this mask because of the design, and I think the fact that I have always loved the idea of a Masqurade Ball contributes.

I hope you like the mask as much as I do. Keep an eye out for more masks in later blog posts.

Mini Runway

I have allways wanted to make my designs into a reality but then after I make a life size wedding dress, what am I supposed to do with it? So, I made my Mini Runway, witch is my fashion in Barbie size. It is a brilliant idea-even if I do say so myself. So I made one of my favorite wedding dress designs-el Carlo, for my Mini Runway. The dress is a design that I did for my ex-drama teacher. She was getting married at the time I did it. The photo above on the left is a nice photo of the whole dress and veil, and the photo on the right is a close up of the sewing on the bodice-I used silver thread and sewed that onto the dress. It is a simple white dress with a train and a veil. And that is the first addition of my Mini Runway.

The Fashion god, Gert-Johan Coetzee.

I came across an article in a magazine about Gert-Johan, and I think he is a genious! Im my opinon he is the fashion god! He is 22 years young, and he has already designed for loads of celebs, including former miss SA, Cindy Nell-Roberts, TV presenter, Liezle van der Westhuizen, singers Thembi Seete and Louise Carver, but to name a few.

In grade 1 Gert-Johan made dresses for his crayons useing little bits of fabric and sticky-tape, and when he was eight he made his first real frock. "It was navy-blue evening dress for my mom and when I think back I can't even belive I got it right," he said with a laugh.

Gert-Johans mom, Hesti, decided to give him more freedom and from grade 8 (standard 6) he was home-schooled {I was also home schooled up untill the beginning of 2010}. Gert-Johan wrote matric at 16 years of age, then completed a two-year course in fashion design at The North West School of Design in Klerksdorp, (they are on FaceBook). He was twice named student of the year {witch is very impressive considering he was only there for two years.} and won the high fashion prize at the Vakani fashion evening, in the process earning a three-month internship in Johannesburg.

Gert-Johan says "I'm involved in fashion design because I love it".

Trashion

Trashion is a type of fashion made out of trash.

So far all of my out-fits and accsessories and so on have been items of trashion.
It was all started as a school project and I continued to create the trashion.
I've had so much fun making it and it's a great way to end up getting me into college :)

But Trashion is only a small portion of my fashion designing, I draw designs, have made actual clothing and barbie clothes, scrap book pages... I've done it all!
